Overview
This policy explains how i2Clipart, operated by Sciweavers, LLC, handles information when you browse the collection, save clipart, use an image tool, or contact us.
Browsing and technical information
Requests to the website provide our server with connection information such as your IP address, the requested page or file, and browser request headers. Search terms appear in the search page’s URL. Hosting and error logs may contain request information and technical errors.
This information helps deliver pages and images, investigate faults, and protect the service. Abuse controls use identifiers derived from connection IP addresses and request timestamps to limit repeated requests. This does not make all connection information anonymous.
Saved clipart and preferences
Your saved list—including artwork references, titles, and artist names—is stored in your browser’s local storage. The site also stores your chosen light or dark appearance and grid size. These settings remain until you change them, clear the website’s browser data, or your browser removes them.
The saved-list feature does not send the stored list to i2Clipart for synchronization. Displaying saved items still requests their preview images from our server, and opening an item sends a normal page request. i2Clipart does not provide synchronization of saved items between browsers or devices.
Sessions and verification
A session cookie connects conversion downloads and form-security checks to your browser. The server keeps the related session information separately. Our copyright form uses a self-hosted ALTCHA verification widget and a challenge issued by i2Clipart. See the cookie policy for storage details and controls.
SVG conversion files
When you submit an SVG for conversion, its contents, filename, selected format, and any size option are sent to our server to produce your requested result. These files are not added to the public clipart collection. Processing files are kept outside the publicly served asset directory, and fetching a conversion result from our server requires the browser session that created it.
Download authorization expires one hour after a successful conversion and can end earlier if the session is lost. After processing succeeds, the service attempts to remove its working SVG, intermediate images, and conversion log. Failed processing jobs are also cleaned up where possible.
Completed output files become eligible for cleanup after one hour. Cleanup runs when further conversions are processed, so files can remain on the server for longer. Link expiration and file deletion are separate events; there is no guaranteed deletion time for every file.
Temporary converter drafts in your browser
The converter keeps a temporary browser draft while you move between the upload, editor, and download pages. This draft includes your original SVG file and filename, the selected output format and width, and, after conversion, a copy of the output file with its download name and size. It is stored in IndexedDB; a separate session-storage entry connects the draft to its browser tab. Refreshing the editor or download page clears the current draft and returns you to the tool starting page.
A draft expires one hour after you choose the source file. The converter removes expired drafts when its storage is next checked and removes the current draft when you choose a new file or refresh the editor or download page. Expiration does not guarantee deletion at that exact time: data may remain until a later cleanup or until you clear the site's browser data. If browser storage is unavailable, the converter uses temporary page memory, which is also cleared by a refresh. This local draft is separate from the files processed on our server.
Color studio and sharing
The color studio creates a PNG in your browser from the displayed clipart preview. That generated variation is not uploaded by the color tool. The Share button copies a page link to your clipboard; it does not send it to a social network.
Copyright notices and email
A copyright notice includes the reported URLs, a description of the original work, your name, mailing address, phone number, email address, electronic signature, and required declarations. The form sends those details and the submission time to our copyright contact by email. We use them to assess the report, correspond with the people involved, and administer the copyright process.
If you email us directly, we receive the message and the contact information you provide. Our application does not impose an automatic deletion deadline on email or copyright correspondence. Information from a notice or counter-notice, including contact details, may be shared with the relevant parties when needed to handle a dispute or follow a legal process. Our copyright policy explains that process.
Service providers and external links
Hosting and email services may process information needed to operate the website and deliver correspondence. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or needed to respond to a legal claim or protect the service. External websites, including Openclipart, have their own privacy practices when you follow a link to them.
Analytics and advertising
The live website uses Statcounter to measure visits and Yandex Metrika to measure page views, link activity, clicks, and engagement. It also uses Google AdSense for automatically placed ads and ads in designated page areas.
These providers may receive the page URL and title, referring URL, IP address, browser and device information, interaction data, and cookie or similar identifiers. Search terms included in a page URL can therefore be visible to analytics providers. The providers process information under their own policies: Statcounter privacy policy, Yandex privacy policy, and Google advertising privacy information.
Fonts and the ALTCHA widget are served by i2Clipart. The Share button only copies a link and does not load a social-network sharing widget.
Retention and your choices
Different information has different retention periods. Local preferences stay under your browser’s control. Conversion-file cleanup works as described above. Session records, abuse-prevention records, hosting logs, and email correspondence do not all share a fixed automatic deletion deadline; their retention depends on server housekeeping, provider settings, and the matter being handled.
You can remove saved items on the Saved page, change your appearance and grid preferences, or clear this website’s cookies and other stored site data in your browser. Clearing session data may prevent access to conversion results. Downloaded files on your device are controlled by you.
For a request concerning personal information you sent to us, contact admin@sciweavers.org. We may need information to identify the relevant record and verify the request. Requests are handled under applicable law, including any obligations to retain information concerning a claim or dispute.
